About
Alberta Outdoors Academy was founded by TJ Kliparchuk, who recognized he could make a larger impact on the public by teaching the lifetime of skills, experiences, and avoidable mistakes common to beginners.
TJ's journey began early — fishing at age 3 and hunting at age 8 with his father. Throughout his life, he's dedicated time to wilderness skills like animal tracking, plant identification, and wildlife observation.
He holds a degree in conservation enforcement, giving him comprehensive knowledge of environmental science and the regulations that apply across Canadian ecosystems — his studies covered wildlife biology, ornithology, ichthyology, fur-bearing mammals, and conservation practices.
The academy offers customized courses tailored for beginners, intermediate learners, and experienced outdoor enthusiasts, drawing on TJ's extensive personal knowledge and practical, hands-on experience.
